Chevy Silverado Starter Grinding
When i crawled under the truck, the bendix was still stuck in the flexplate teeth. But on my 2011 silverado ltz, sometimes when i go to start it, it like starts but it sounds like the starter is grinding.

Chevy silverado starter grinding. I would also buy the proper starter bolts for these starters. If this noise continues without the starter being replaced, it can cause damage to the engine's feel, which is a rather expensive repair to have completed. I would get a pack of shims out of the help section and install one of the thinner ones and keep going up until the noise goes away.
Set your multimeter to be on the ohms scale. They are available from dealers and auto supplies. The truck making the noise is a 1996 chevy, 2500, 4x4, 6.5 turbo diesel.

Removed the starter and had it tested at a local autozone store two different times. Im looking at a 2007 3500 duramax to buy within the next few days or so, so im hoping that this isnt a repair that might cost alot. Thereof, how do you test a starter relay?

Place one probe on the lead on the ignition circuit terminal and the other on the ground lead. You can tell a lot about what’s going on with a vehicle by carefully listening for changes. The chevy's have tendency to cause this as exhaust is near starter and a heat shield.
