Chevy Silverado Starter Grinding

When i crawled under the truck, the bendix was still stuck in the flexplate teeth. But on my 2011 silverado ltz, sometimes when i go to start it, it like starts but it sounds like the starter is grinding.

If this noise continues without the starter being replaced, it can cause damage to the engine's feel, which is a rather expensive repair to have completed.
